To “grok” something is to understand it on a deeper than intellectual level.

Rolling Thunder, the Cherokee medicine man, once explained that what we call understanding is really only the feeling we get from successfully juggling our current ideas to fit in the new one.

When you really understand something, you automatically draw upon that understanding in everything you do. You grok it.

Everything I write about mindfulness is my attempt to help you grok what it’s really about, how it works, how it can more effectively be used to make a measurable difference in your daily life.

I already had a background in the Human Potential field, and had published in that field, but then I began focusing upon what I saw as the extraodinary potential for mindfulness to help you live the life you really want.


Generic secular mindfulness meditation practice was  used mostly as a mental health intervention for stress:


“Eat healthy, sleep healthy, exercise, and meditate.”  


But as I looked into it more deeply, I began to ask, “Could mindfulness be used to access the extraordinary  resources of our nonconscious mind?”

What is the Absolute Best Way to Teach Mindfulness?

So I dedicated five years to studying every piece of research that I could find on mindfulness, positive psychology, and related neuroscience.


Then I went further. I often followed leads that I found in anthropology, sociology, biology and other rather odd places.


What I didn’t do, however, was go the conventional route. I took no trademarked certification courses; followed no gurus to their ashrams in India, got no selfies with, or blessings from, the leading lights of the mindfulness movement.


But you know what? It’s kind of amazing what you can do on your own, if you are just willing to spend the time and energy.

But that’s not the end.


Everything that I’ve learnt so far is a thimble-full, compared to what you, the next generation of the B-Sync Nation will discover.


I don’t want you to use B-Sync Mindfulness because you think I’m some sort of an authority.


I want you to use it because you’ve begun to discover how well it works in your life.


That’s what B-Sync Nation is about.
