Isn't About Time You Focused Your Mindfulness Practice On More Than Just Stress Reduction?













When you think about it, stress reduction is really just a “side effect” of mindfulness practice.


Any form of mindfulness practice (perhaps any form of meditation) seems to reduce stress.


To be sure, this collateral benefit does improve many aspects of your daily life. But that’s simply because, when you are less stressed you are less likely to lose your composure when you accidentally knock your pen off the table...for the third time.


You are less likely to flip out when some other driver makes an inconsiderate maneuver on the road.


You are more likely to think about the feelings of another, rather than just blurting out some hurtful remark.


And you can think more clearly than when your cognitive functions were impaired by stress.


So that is good.
